POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages and overseas overall plant operations which may include finance, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, materials, quality assurance/control, human resources and information systems.  Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of operations.

Assures that the product manufactured is at the most competitive cost.  Maintains excellent relationships with internal/external customers.  Generate maximum profit attainable.    Provides leadership and direction for the company’s strategic plan, goals and objectives.

 MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving.
  • Chair plant production meetings daily for successful manufacturing.
  • Routinely and as necessary meet with customers to review and discuss quality, production and any other pending issues for completeness.
  • Resolve problems such as production emergencies, safety situations, employee problems and production scheduling in an efficient and cost conscious manner.
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operation expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
  • Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.

         

EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree with manufacturing experience or 7-10 years glass container manufacturing experience.

Proficient with Microsoft office software.

May be required to meet certain certifications in field.

Familiar with a variety of the manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.

Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
